Single Corporate Sales Tax
In recent years, Georgia revised its corporate sales tax. The formula rewards investment in Georgia and looks only at the percentage of the company's sales made to customers located within Georgia. See example in right column.
Tax Credits
Georgia offers state tax credits to qualifying new/existing companies based on a variety of criteria:
• jobs created
• increase in port shipments
• investment created
• a fast growth small business
• a retraining initiative
• a child care initiative
• research and development.

Tax Exemptions
Recent legislation offers qualifying businesses sales tax exemptions for: equipment related electricity used for manufacturing.
Hope Scholarship and Grants (Free Tuition)
Georgia's HOPE scholarship is the state's lottery-funded program that rewards Georgia high school graduates with financial assistance in degree, diploma, and certificate programs at eligible institutions of higher learning. College or technical school bound, this is a great resource for your employees and their family members.
OneGeorgia Authority
OneGeorgia Authority is an economic development tool created by the state legislature, to assist Georgia communities and their industries with grants and loans. Locate South Georgia communities and many of their businesses are recipients of these funds. We have a successful track record with OneGeorgia funding.
Labor/Low Unemployment Insurance
Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond announced in 2007 a $100 million unemployment insurance tax cut. The tax cut leaves more money in the hands of Georgia's large and small employers. Georgia has the second most solvent unemployment insurance trust fund and the lowest unemployment insurance tax rates in the Southeast.

This is a workforce development initiative creating easy access for companies to find qualified workers.
Right-to-Work State
Georgia employees have the right to decide for themselves whether or not to join or financially support a union.
Population Growing/More Customers
Georgia is the nation's 10th largest consumer market; up three places from 1990. Census Bureau numbers from July 1, 2005 and July 1, 2006 show Georgia is the 4th fastest growing state.

This center brings to bear the resources of the Georgia Economic Development Department and its federal and state agency partners known collectively as the U.S. Export Assistance Center.
